Repair works at Boxley Church, Maidstone

Goodsell and Son Ltd. Have also carried out general repair work to the church and lychgate roofs and external fabric.

This project was undertaken to rebuild a section of the boundary wall at Boxley Church due to the wall becoming unstable through ivy growth within the wall construction. A length of approximately 15 metres of the ragstone wall was taken down and the existing stone saved for reuse. Following the removal of the ivy roots from the inner rubble fill, the wall was reconstructed using a mixture of the existing stone which had been saved and reclaimed ragstone, using lime-based mortar to replicate the remaining sections of the wall.
