Church of Bertha the Queen

New Church at Sussex Avenue, Spring Lane, Canterbury.

Construction of a new church, dedicated to Bertha the Queen, with pew space for a congregation of about 100. The church was constructed and opened in 1961. The opening ceremony was held on 30th September 1961, and the dedication was made by Dr Michael Ramsey, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who walked in procession from the adjoining vicarage to the newly-built church.
